Produced in Portugal by a family owned business that's been operating since 1991. 60 of the 70 staff members are women, which means that your sweatshirt has been made with a whole heap of Strong Girl love.
Please do check the garment measurements before ordering.
Measurements in cm garment laid flat- armpit to armpit X high shoulder point to hem.. They run a little larger than our other children's sweatshirts. Please see the notes below on how it fits on my girls to help guide you.
3-4 Years *33.x41*
5-6 Years *37x46*
7-8 Years *41x51*
9-10 Years *45x56*
11-12 Years *49 x 61cm* (we believe this would fit a child aged 12/14 comfortably)
Some tips on the sizing:
Little Red: my youngest daughter pictured was five at the beginning of the year. In the likes of Boden and H&M she is just on the cusp of a 5/6, soon to be 6/7. You can see that the 5/6 she is pictured in here has room to grow.
Big Red: my eldest daughter, although only 8 years old, is just out of 9/10 in Boden and H&M and moving into 10/11. Here she is pictured on the 9/10 of the rainbow sweatshirt which still has some room to grow.
My advice is not to size up from what your child wears in other stores based on these comments. But I hope showing you how it fits on them will help guide you a little.
Please note that organic cotton tends to shrink with the first wash by 3-5%. So when you're trying your sweatshirt on at home, please do just bear that in mind. It's why we've made the sleeves a little longer, to allow for slight shrinkage in the first wash.
(To ensure the longevity of your garment, please wash inside out at 30C, do not tumble dry and iron on the reverse)
I have a very fussy 5 year old when it comes to clothes. They most be comfortable, they must contain pink, they must be bright and they must be rainbow. So when I received the email to say they were in stock my heart raced. One quick measurement later it was ordered, she’s almost 6 and just going into age 6 clothes, the age 5/6 fits her perfectly. It’s now her go to jumper, she wears it whilst shouting ‘strong girls club’! When she saw it, she thought she had died and had gone to heaven! Thank you Gemma for reaching into my daughters crazy mind and making her ideal jumper. XxX
Gorgeous colours and light material but warm with the lovely fleece inside. Bought the smallest size 3/4 for my 2.5 year old and it fits fine with plenty of growing room. My daughter would probably have preferred it to have more pink on the front rather than the back but I don’t mind and it’s nice knowing no two sweatshirts are the same. If you’re still doing them in a year or so I will definitely buy the next size up for her!
